Splendid Comes the Night

Acrylic on Canvas
11"x14"
$375
 SOLD!

It would be possible to see a scene such as this one, if a person had the good fortune to be there at the perfect moment.  I am lucky enough to be able to paint my own day dreams.  This painting takes you in and makes you dream.  By the way, if anyone thinks that painting looks easy, I repainted the sky four times to get it right.

Summer Buzz

Acrylic on Board
8"x"12"
$250
 SOLD!
I have developed a real love for lavender fields.  One of the largest and most beautiful fields in the Northwest is owned by a friend and collector of my paintings.  It is only 25 minutes from my house and he has been kind enough to grant me full access to the farm.  This painting was created mostly on location during their annual 'lavender festival'.   The title comes from the amazing sound that a half million honey bees make!

A Day in Pinot Country

Acrylic and Oil on Canvas
14"x24"
$700
 SOLD!
It is fun and relaxing to visit "wine country".  Although, I do seem to need a nap after two winery stops!  Artistically, the vine rows make an interesting design element.

Afterglow

Acrylic on Canvas
14"x11"
$375
JUST SOLD!
It is hard to find the words to describe standing in a wilderness meadow with an incredible sunset on display.  It is emotional and spiritually uplifting to me.  I wish that I was there right now.
Don't you?

Tuscan Blue and Gold

Acrylic on Panel
16" x 12"
$550
 SOLD!
I have been painting Tuscan scenes for almost seven years now and I sure do enjoy it.  The wonderful, warm colors of the Tuscan region are great to work with.  My favorite, though is the old architecture.  This is a four hundred year old villa and it is so fun to do the crumbling stucco and ancient stone.

The Home Fires Beckon

Acrylic on Panel
11" x 14"
 SOLD!
I have painted tipis for three decades and this is the first time that I have painted one that is glowing from the fire.  I don't know why I waited so long because this was fun.  The challenge was to give an inviting warmth in a cold landscape.

Forgotten Roads

Acrylic on Panel
8" x 8"
SOLD!
An evening view of a classic Tuscan scene.  A small painting is fun to paint and a challenge to get a big landscape into 64 square inches!

Western Light

Oil on Canvas
24" x 36"
$1400
SOLD!
I wanted to paint the essence of those wonderful back road discoveries from Oregon to Montana and beyond.  It is a western landscape where you can feel alone and at peace, but not lonely.

Pow Wow Days

Drybrush Watercolor
8" x 12"
$350
Sold!
This is a revised image of a favorite painting of mine.  I really liked the way the original version turned out, but I decided that the moccasin design needed to have more impact.  So, I changed the beaded section completely.  Now it is as good as I can get it.

The Good Life

Acrylic on Panel
14" x 18"
JUST SOLD!
I have painted Tuscan scenes off and on for several years now.  In this painting, I am showing an intimate moment at the end of a perfect day.  What a wonderful day dream to make come true.

What Lies Beneath

Acrylic on Panel
6" x 12"
$325
 SOLD!

In the 33 years of doing research on Native American cultures I have come to believe that the Northwest coast tribes are the most artistic and superstitious.  I wanted to paint one of their carved and painted paddles which for an everyday object I consider it to be a work of art.   In reading about the underwater world that they created, I envision these masks coming out of the depths of the dark ocean waters.

Winter's Delight

Chicadees are my favorite songbird.  I have them outside my studio window year round.  This is my first small piece on birch bark

Sunlit Trio

Acrylic on Birch Bark
14" x 20"
$750
 SOLD!
This is my latest painting on birch bark and it soon turned into one of the most difficult to finish.  The degree of detail is extreme.  I used a brush made with five or six hairs!  Trilliums have always been my favorite wild flower.

People of the Columbia

Watercolor on Aquaboard
11" x 14"
$375
SOLD!
My thirty year love affair with Indian baskets continues.  This it the first time I have painted a 'sally bag' basket from the Columbia River tribes.   I found the grinder many years ago and it is a favorite piece of my collection.
